Short, practical guides to help you read supplement labels and understand your VeriSupp reports.

How to read an ingredient label

Start with the Supplement Facts panel. Ingredients are usually listed in order of quantity. Look for exact doses (e.g. "Creatine monohydrate 5g"), not hidden in a "proprietary blend".

Check the serving size at the top — a tub may list impressive doses that require 3–4 scoops per day.

Watch for allergens, artificial colours and filler ingredients near the end of the list.

Understanding safety flags

VeriSupp flags ingredients that exceed typical upper limits (e.g. caffeine above 400 mg/day) or that have known interactions. A flag is a prompt to pause and check, not a diagnosis.

Excess flags suggest cutting back; deficit flags suggest you may be under-dosing something useful.

Always consult a qualified professional before starting or stopping a supplement, especially if you take medication.

Interpreting formula scores

The Formula Score (0–10) reflects ingredient quality and dosing. 7+ is well-formulated, 4–6 is middling, below 4 suggests under-dosing or filler-heavy products.

The Transparency Score reflects how clearly doses are listed. Proprietary blends with no doses score low.

Hype Risk (Low/Medium/High) shows how much the marketing overstates the science.

Why doses matter

Many ingredients only work in a range. Too little = no effect; too much = side effects and wasted money. VeriSupp compares each dose to common research ranges.

For example, creatine is typically 3–5 g/day; beta-alanine 3–6 g/day; caffeine best kept under 400 mg/day.

Using the Stack Overview

Pro users get a Stack Overview that adds up your daily intake across every product you've audited — caffeine, creatine, protein and more.

It flags excess, deficit and redundancy, then gives clear Keep / DROP / Add / Swap advice so you can simplify and improve your stack.

Getting the most from VeriSupp

Audit every product before you buy or as you take it. The more labels you add, the better your Stack Overview becomes.
